PRIVATE PRACTICE
Dr. med. Clara Deutschmann
Specialist in Psychiatry & Psychotherapy
WELCOME
TO MY PRIVATE PRACTICE FOR PSYCHIATRY & PSYCHOTHERAPY
My name is Clara Deutschmann. I am a board-certified psychiatrist and psychotherapist in private practice.
As a specialist, I work on the basis of cognitive behavioral therapy and combine evidence-based psychotherapy with an individualized, holistic treatment approach. At the center of my work are your personal life situation, your unique challenges, and the question of how current stressors and experiences can be managed.
Together, we develop strategies to strengthen your sense of self-efficacy and to enable a constructive way of dealing with emotional stress and difficult thoughts. I place particular importance on an open and respectful therapeutic relationship, and I work in a resource-oriented, goal-focused, and empathic manner –
with the aim of relieving symptoms, restoring quality of life, and supporting sustainable change. Depending on your needs, I also integrate mindfulness-based methods and relaxation techniques. Medication can be included in the therapeutic process when it is medically appropriate and desired by you – yet the heart of the treatment always remains the therapeutic conversation.
Over the past years, I have had the privilege of accompanying many people on their personal journey—witnessing change and seeing how inner potential can unfold. Courage does not mean having no fear. Courage means taking the first step despite fear and uncertainty. You do not have to take this step alone—I am here to accompany you in a professional and compassionate setting.

WHAT IS COGNITIVE BEHAVIORAL THERAPY?

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a scientifically recognized psychotherapeutic method that is particularly characterized by its goal- and solution-oriented approach. It is based on the understanding that psychological difficulties often develop over the course of life—frequently through stressful experiences, unfavorable thought patterns, or behaviors—and that they can be changed again through new experiences and strategies.

In the therapeutic process, current challenges are analyzed together and considered in the context of biographical experiences. The aim is to gain a deeper understanding of how symptoms develop and are maintained, and to create practical, individualized pathways for change.

CBT is built on a transparent, active collaboration between patient and therapist. Depending on individual needs, different methods may be applied—for example, cognitive strategies to change unhelpful thought patterns, mindfulness and relaxation techniques, exposure exercises, or methods for emotion regulation.

At the center always lies the question: What helps me here and now to cope better with challenges and to sustainably improve my quality of life?

ONLINE THERAPY
I offer sessions both in my practice in Berlin and online. When certain requirements are met, treatment can take place in a digital format.

A necessary step before starting online therapy is an initial in-person consultation at my practice. This ensures that online therapy is medically indicated, therapeutically appropriate, and helps to rule out possible contraindications.

In terms of content, an online session does not differ from an in-person appointment—each session usually lasts 50 minutes.
Online therapy can be an effective and flexible alternative—especially if you are bound to a location, travel frequently, or are unable to attend in person on a regular basis. Advantages include, among others:
  • Access from anywhere: You can conveniently participate from any location.
  • Time flexibility: Therapy can be more easily integrated into your daily routine—without travel time.
  • Familiar environment: Conversations from home can make it easier to open up.
  • Continuity of care: Your psychological support remains stable, even if circumstances in your daily life change.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about online therapy—I will advise you individually and transparently.
Patient Feedback

MS. T.
I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to Dr. C. Deutschmann. I first met her at the beginning of 2024. Since then, she has guided me through my therapy with great energy, empathy, and extensive knowledge. With Dr. Deutschmann, I was able to learn so much in such a short time—more than I had ever experienced with any other therapist. I wish her all the best for the future.

MS. S.

After almost two years of psychoanalysis, I switched to Dr. Deutschmann at ZADZ in order to move from analysis to implementation. From my very first session with her, I left feeling uplifted and empowered. This was a wonderful experience, as I had often felt heavy and overwhelmed after psychoanalysis. Since then, I have never once questioned my decision to switch: things have been steadily improving. I have learned a great deal, and my toolbox for dealing with my emotions—especially fears—and my needs continues to grow thanks to Dr. Deutschmann’s energetic support.

MR. S.

Dr. Deutschmann has been treating me for a year, and I remained her patient when she moved to Clienia Oerlikon. She possesses excellent professional knowledge, takes time for me as a patient, and always has a listening ear. She adjusted my medication correctly, which has led to significant improvements in both my mental and physical well-being. In our therapy sessions, I feel very well supported and in the best of hands. Dr. Deutschmann is a highly competent physician.

MR. J.
Dr. Deutschmann’s way of working has enabled me to make progress that seemed almost impossible a year ago. I had previously seen other therapists, but thanks to her input I was finally able to receive an accurate diagnosis and the appropriate therapy—something far beyond mere symptom treatment. I am now making real progress and am very grateful to be under her care. I also greatly value her warm and humane manner.
